The role
As a Training & Learning Advisor, you will play a key role in delivering engaging, effective, and high-quality learning experiences for staff across Natural Resources Wales (NRW). You'll manage the full training lifecycle — from identifying learning needs and advising on course options, to coordinating bookings, maintaining training records, managing suppliers, tracking attendance, and issuing certificates.
You will work closely with staff, managers, and external providers to ensure all training activities are aligned with organisational objectives and delivered efficiently. Acting as the main point of contact for training related matters, you'll provide expert advice on course suitability, oversee procurement and supplier engagement, raise purchase orders, and ensure accurate data management and reporting.
This is a dynamic, detail-oriented role that demands exceptional organisational skills, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with confidence and efficiency
As an organisation we support flexible working. You will be contracted to the nearest NRW office to your home and a suitable hybrid working pattern will be agreed on appointment. Any regular face to face meetings or training will be planned in advance.

About us
The Training and Learning Team report to the Wellbeing, Health and Safety Manager within the Corporate Strategy and Development Directorate at Natural Resources Wales.
What you will do
- Deliver the learning plan ensuring best value for money.
- Ensure any training programme being delivered is meeting the business needs.
- Promote NRW training programme to staff so they are aware of availability of training courses including how to enrol.
- Ensure L&D intranet pages are kept up to date and staff informed of developments.
- Ensure post course evaluations are monitored and used with suppliers to ensure training are fit for purpose.
- Using user requirement draft tender specification and assist with the evaluation of the tenders evaluations.
- Establish training contracts and ensure training ids best value for money.
- Develop learning schedule to inform the business of when training is available.
- Maintain records and information in line with regulations/ legislation and agreed standards ensuring training records are kept up to date
- Undertake health and safety duties and responsibilities appropriate to the post

Your qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills
In your application and interview you will be asked to demonstrate the following skills and experience using the STAR method.
- Experience of working with teams across a business and managing competing priorities.
- Experience of tender processes and drafting training requirements.
- Good organisational skills and excellent planning.
Welsh language level requirements
- Essential: A1 Entry Level able to use and understand simple basic phrases and greetings, no conversational Welsh) previous level 1
