Fly-tipping Action Wales partnership: what we do
Fly-tipping Action Wales is a Welsh Government sponsored partnership coordinated by Natural Resources Wales to help tackle fly-tipping.
Who we are
The all-Wales partnership includes a range of more than fifty organisations working together, including:
- 22 Welsh local authorities
- Natural Resources Wales
- Keep Wales Tidy
- National Park Authorities
- Police and Fire Services
- Housing Associations
- Private land managers
What we do
Fly-tipping Action Wales mainly supports local authorities, although is open to working with any organisation.
We provide the following support free of charge:
- Access to our Flymapper system that allows for spatial mapping of fly-tipping incidents, uploading of photos, viewing of hotspots
- Fly-tipping Action Wales enforcement officers can provide advice and guidance on pursuing enforcement actions through training, on the ground support, access to legal advice and equipment loan - such as cameras and trackers
- National campaign and awareness raising materials
- Coordinating regional working groups to bring together organisations that are working towards reducing fly-tipping in Wales
- Providing signage to act as a deterrent and giving advice on preventing fly-tipping on land managed by your organisation (for example target hardening)
We also collate and validate the annual national fly-tipping statistics for Welsh Government and we bring stakeholders together to jointly tackle fly-tipping through the sharing of resources and best practice.
