Marine licence declarations

Making the declaration as the licence holder

The potential licence holder should make the declaration. This is the person who would be named on the marine licence.

Applying as an organisation or public body

The person signing the declaration must be authorised to sign on behalf of the organisation — for example, a director, manager or company secretary.

Applying as an individual

The individual who is applying for their name to appear on the licence must complete the declaration.

Making the declaration on behalf of the licence holder

If you are completing the form as an agent, contractor, employee or other role, but would not be the named licence holder, you need to provide written confirmation from that person.

This should be an email using the text below, confirming that you have the authority to fill in the declaration on their behalf.

You will need to upload this when completing the declaration section of the application form.

Wording for email declarations

Providing false or misleading information, or failing to disclose something important, is an offence under the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009. It could lead to the licence being withdrawn, and/or a fine.

I confirm that, to the best of my knowledge and belief, the information provided is true and complete.

I confirm that [name] is authorised to make this declaration on my behalf.
